Swimming Lessons

Grace and Charlie started swim lessons today at the Y. Grace was excited, however Charlie was beyond excited to finally get to go to swimming lessons.

I took William up to the observation deck and observed. At one point they gave Charlie a ball to teach him to blow bubbles. They were to put the ball in the water and blow it across the water. Well, while the instructor was with another child, Charlie threw his ball a little to far in the water and couldn't retrieve it with his short arms. I watched him nearly fall in the water trying to get it back. He did look up at me in the deck as I was shaking my head at him and mouthing "NO", and "Leave it". I am anticipating him falling in sometime by the end of lessons, just because he gets easily distracted. Don't worry, they have life preservers on, and there is always another life guard walking around the pool that isn't teaching.

At the end of lessons, as I was showering the kids up in the locker rooms, William found entertainment in the lockers themselves. I tried to get a picture of him closing the door on himself, but wasn't quick enough.

ummm makeup already....

Grace went to the neighbors house for a little play date. She came home looking like this...

I asked her what was on her face, she said "Makeup mom".

Sled ride

I arrived home from work with a text from Ross saying they went for a walk. I took a picture of them on their way home. You can't see Charlie...he was lying down.

Ross was trying to teach Charlie his ABC letters. He is really trying to learn how to spell his name. So far, we are at CHA....he can repeat that pretty easily...then we get lost with the rlie...he usually just says "P"

More Snow!

Just when I thought we were getting into spring, we get hit with 6+ inches of snow. I think Grace and Charlie were getting use to going outside without their snowsuits. When they got ready to go out today, here is how they went out....

If you can't tell, Grace is wearing her spring coat, rain boots and no gloves. At least she put a hat on.

Charlie just but on a sweatshirt which he didn't zip up, rainboots and a hat.

A view of what Ross had to shovel. He said it was heavy due to it raining earlier. I think after this year he is thinking more seriously about getting a snow blower!

William spent the time in the house with me cooking. He LOVES to pull out the pots and pans and play with them.

then a photo shoot. He loves to have his picture taken. Always gives a good smile!

No more training wheels!

It has been a beautiful couple of days. We have spent the majority of the time outside. We went for a bike ride after lunch today and Grace asked if we could practice without training wheels. She tried with Ross for about 15 minutes and did go for a very short distance by herself before she stopped herself because she thought she was going to fall. Then said she wanted to have a little quiet time in the house. So, we rested.

After about and hour of quiet time she wanted to try again, so Grace and I gave it a try. It took her about 5 tries and she was on her own without training wheels. Then after about 30 minutes of practicing, I taught her how to start on her own.(I was starting to get tired of chasing after her to get her going once she stopped herself) She got that in about 5 tries as well. She caught on very quickly. She is so excited!

After supper we headed out for a bike ride for some ice cream. She did awesome. Can't believe she can ride a bike without training wheels. She did notice right away that she can go faster without them!:)

Charlie...I love this kid.

William outside in his car. I am a little worried about this kid this summer. He wants to be outside ALL the time. If he isn't he sits by the door and cries. When he is outside and it is time to come in, he screams. He could live outside if we let him.

Charlie and William thought it was a good idea to play in the mud. Surprisingly they weren't that dirty!

There goes the snow. Thank goodness. I am glad to see it go. It is nice to see the grass again, however it will be better once it isn't all squishy and muddy.

Spirit Week

It is Spirit Week at school today. Today's theme was Retro day or dress like a friend day. This is how Grace looked when we left the house. However, the hair accessory did not stay since it bothered her to much.

Relaxing

We have had a long week here at the Lendt household. Once again, everyone was sick. Tonight was the first night they were better and we relaxed down in the basement watching a movie. Here is William relaxing.
